Get all the classic casino table game fun you could want with First Person Blackjack, a thrilling blackjack game that comes with 2 optional side bets to really ramp up the excitement.
How To Play
The aim of First Person Blackjack is simple: Form a hand with a combined value of 21, without exceeding it – or get closer to it than the dealer.
You can create the strongest hand – known as “natural blackjack” - with an Ace (worth 11) and 1 of the face cards (Jack, Queen, or King), which are each worth 10. Where it benefits your hand otherwise, an Ace can also be worth 1.
Game Rules
A total of 7 players can join the table alongside the dealer.
The cards are picked from 8 standard 52-card decks, and these are their values:
When the betting time runs out, every player receives a card, starting from the left and moving clockwise.
Each player then receives their second card facing up, and then the dealer will receive their second card, but it will be facing down.
You’ll see your initial hand value next to your cards.
Insurance
Should the dealer’s face-up card be an Ace, you’ll have the option to buy insurance. This is to protect your hand against the dealer ultimately having blackjack.
If they do, and you’ve bought insurance, the bet will pay out at 2:1.
Once you’ve made your decision, the dealer checks to see what their face-down card is.
If they have blackjack, and you’ve bought insurance, the bet will pay out at 2:1.
If they do not have blackjack, the round carries on as usual.
If you both have blackjack, it’s a push and you get your wager back.
An Insurance bet costs half of your main bet.
Double Down
Double your initial wager and receive an extra card with the Double Down option.
This option is available on your first 2 cards.
Double Down is not available on split hands.
Hit
If you want your hand to receive another card, choose to hit.
This option will no longer be available once your hand reaches 21 or above.
Stand
Stand if you do not want to receive any more cards.
Split
If the first 2 cards you receive are equal in value, you can split them to form 2 separate hands.
Each hand is treated as an individual bet, and they’ll each use the same wager as the one you placed originally.
You can choose to hit with both these hands, but you cannot hit on split hands made with Aces.
It isn’t possible to split a hand more than once.
Outcome
If your hand exceeds 21, this is a bust and you will lose your bet.
Once everyone has played their hand, the dealer reveals their face-down card.
If their hand has a value of 16 or less, they must hit.
If their hand has a value of at least 17, they must stand.
If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s, you win. You also win if the dealer’s hand is a bust.
A blackjack made up of an Ace and a 10 is stronger than a 21 comprising 3 cards as well as a 21 made by a split hand.
Side Bets
2 exciting side bets are available when you play First Person Blackjack.
These are Perfect Pairs and 21+3.
It’s possible to mix these with your main bets, so if that one loses you still might win a side bet.
Perfect Pairs
If your first 2 cards are a pair – 2 Kings or 2 5s – you win.
The payout you receive depends on the type of pair you have.
Mixed Pair – non-matching suits and colours, so a black 3 of Hearts and a red 3 of Spades
Coloured Pair – non-matching suits with the same colour, so a red 4 of Diamonds and a red 4 of Hearts
Perfect Pair – identical cards, so 2 Kings of Hearts
Perfect Pairs Payouts
Here are the payout ratios for each type of pair:
Mixed Pair 6:1
Coloured Pair 12:1
Pefect Pair 25:1
21+3
With this side bet, you use your first 2 cards with the dealer’s face-up card to create a winning 3-card hand.
Flush – any cards with identical suits, so a 4, 9, and Jack of Hearts
Straight – non-matching suits in numerical order, so a 7 of Spades, an 8 of Hearts, and a 9 of Clubs
Three of a Kind – matching cards with different suits, so a King of Hearts, Clubs, and Diamonds
Straight Flush – cards of the same suit also in numerical order, so a 4, 5, and 6 of Spades
Suited Trips – 3 identical cards, so 3 Aces of Hearts
21+3 Payouts
Here are the payout ratios for all the possible hands in 21+3:
Flush 5:1
Straight 10:1
Three of a Kind 30:1
Straight Flush 40:1
Suited Trips 100:1
Bet Behind
Bet on another player’s hand using the Bet Behind feature. These bets have the same payouts as regular bets.
Place a bet in the activated Bet Behind location on another player’s seat, but do this before betting time runs out.
You get your wager back right away if the player you choose to bet behind decides not to play in the round.
The nickname you see on each seat highlights which player makes the decision for that hand, but you can still buy insurance and use the Double Down and Split options.
It’s not possible to use Bet Behind on your own hand.
You can prevent other players from using the Bet Behind option on you.
Hot Player
Whoever has the longest winning streak will have the Hot Player icon next to them.
The number of consecutive rounds they’ve won is displayed in the gold medal next to the icon.
This gold medal disappears once that player loses a round.
